Wanna know a secret?
I LOVE shooting boudoir, maybe more than any other type of session. Women who contact me about boudoir sessions all say about the same thing, some versions of: "I don't know how to pose! Will you help me?" and "I've never done this before. I'm nervous!" Lemme tell you something girlfriend, I GOT YOU. While I'm not necessarily an expert on lingerie or what it takes to look sexy (lol as I write this with wet hair, no bra, in bed, fingers covered in tortilla chip salt) I do know exactly how to make YOU look and, more importantly, feel sexy.
There comes a point in every session, typically about 10 minutes in after your nerves have calmed down and after I've posed you a few different ways and after I've complimented you about twenty five times where I decide to turn the camera around and show you how you look. This is my absolute favorite moment during a session always, but especially during a boudoir session. You will, every time, be amazed at how sexy you look. It never fails.
Women who contact me for boudoir sessions are usually (always) having these photos taken for their husbands or boyfriends, bot you know what? These sessions always end up being for them instead. I have watched women go wide-eyed and gasp at the back of my camera saying, "Oh my god, is that me?" like they had never, ever seen themselves as beautiful, much less sexy. Boudoir sessions end up boosting the confidence of my clients in ways they haven't felt in years, or sometimes ever. Yes, of course, the men (or women) they love also enjoy the photos I take, but man, the women in front of the camera truly leave my studio different than when they came in. It's extremely fulfilling to watch and I am so lucky that I get to be a part of someone realizing just how beautiful they actually are.
When I finally opened up my in-home photography studio, I knew one of the first types of sessions I wanted to try was boudoir. Luckily, my brother is married to a smoking hot woman named Jordan who graciously volunteered to be my very first studio model and my goodness, she knocked it all the way out of the park. She came into my studio just like all other women for whom I've shot boudoir photos-nervous and unsure, needing direction, and genuinely shocked by her own images. Below you'll see some of our favorites from her session and, while I can't share every photo (this isn't that kind of website!) I want to share these images with the hopes that one day you, too, will recognize and acknowledge your own beauty. And maybe, the next boudoir session you book will be primarily for YOU.
